I will be beginning my cycle soon and it's been a while since the last time I started a tank from scratch. I'll be using all dry rock, but want to seed with some live rock rubble.
My question is...does the the live rock need to be in contact with the dry for the bacteria to seed the dry rock? Or can it move through the water column? Would it be best to spread the rubble through the tank, or in the sump only is fine?
Also, while the tank is cycling, will a higher water temp help the bacteria to colonize more quickly. Like 82-84f during the cycling phase?

I would spread the lr in the dt. Run normal temps 77-78 and leave lights off for the cycle.
