I’m wondering while during cycling can I add copepods and brine shrimp to the tank? Would it hurt them and cause a chemical imbalance or will they be ok?

I do not see much of the point adding brine shrimp, they will not breed in your tank. As far as adding pods, I would add them after ammonia drops and preferably after you do partial water exchange after tank cycling, otherwise you would throw many of them away.

I was figuring that would be the case of it. I really didn’t want to put them in my temporary tank but it seems I have to this go around

Wait until your tank is stabilized. Brine shrimp are only for direct feedings

That’s the plan now. I just wasn’t sure if it would be beneficial to go ahead and add them before the fish were introduced to the tank.
