Another additional question! I have an airpump/stones from an old freshwater tank. Could I toss it in the saltwater tank? I know I don't really need it but I already have it...and it would just collect dust if I'm not using. Any downsides to having air bubbles in fish only tank?
Salt spray and creep.

I run them in my QT. I wouldn’t on my display or any of my other tanks but that’s just me. Just be careful not to over do it. If you start to see a film or foam on the surface of your water then you’ll essentially be turning your tank into a skimmer. Saltwater has greater surface tension than freshwater so the bubbles will be smaller. If the air stones were used for freshwater so I doubt they have a fine enough pour size to create bubbles small enough for concern. Unless they are wood air diffusers, those are meant for skimmers.

I don't think I would unless I needed to do something like that. I would clean the heck out of it for sure. You will end up with lots of micro bubbles in the tank and the salt creep near where the bubbles break the surface with be horrendous.
