I'm reading 15 ppm Nitrates and
.20 Ammonia? I'm on day 24 of a new 75 gallon reef. My question is Ammonia is supposed to be undetectable when Nitrates are showing correct? In other words I shouldn't have both correct lol

Nope. You will still see ammonia as your tank cycles. What will gradually happen is your ammonia will become 0 as your nitrates increase. If you are still seeing ammonia then you are still cycling. 15ppm Nitrate is not that high. Hold the course

Thanks for the response, it's appreciated
Almost a month now guess I'm just excited.

You should be monitoring Ammonia and Nitrites during a cycle. Those are the two important ones.

Ammonia should spike and then tail off as Nitrites spike. Eventually both should read zero. Once Ammonia and Nitrites are zero you can do a water change to lower Nitrates.

This Graph is very informative, thanks

If you have nitrites in your tank, you will get a false high reading for nitrates. Just wait to test nitrates until nitrites read 0 ppm.
I was wondering if high Nitrites would give a false Nitrate reading. I'm working with an Ammonia and Nitrate testers at the moment. Thinking about a Nitrite though, thanks for the reply.
