I'm starting my first SW tank, it's a IM 25G lagoon but it's not being delivered until later this week. I've had many FW tanks (Cichlids, Peacocks and Haps) throughout the years and I've always used Ace Hardware ammonia to cycle my tanks. Yesterday I went to my LFS to buy some dry Marco rock but I found 3 Caribsea arches that was already cycled that were perfect for my tank. I have the arches in a 10G Brute trashcan with saltwater, a heater set at 84°F and a Koralia 565 nano but I don't know how to treat them.

Do I treat the arches as if I were cycling the tank, meaning once the ammonia drops to 0ppm within 24hrs keep adding a little bit more every day / every other day until I have my tank setup? And if the ammonia doesn't drop within 24hrs. keep checking daily until it drops to 0ppm?

i’d lower the temp to about 80-81degrees F as that’s the juicy spot for bacterial reproduction for some reason. yes you’d treat it like a cycling tank and dose nitrifying bacteria if you can to get those rocks populated quicker!
