Cycling rocks for upgrade

I will be upgrading to a larger tank in October. I currently have a about 70 lbs of dry rock sitting in a Brute can since February. I took out the heater and pumps in May when I started my Nano tank. They are still in the salt water, but I have not been ghost feeding anymore either. Should I do a water change and use a heater and pump to get the bacteria active again, or will they be fine. I will need to do a very short cycle on the new tank because I plan on using the same sump on the larger tank. TIA

I wouldn't worry about a heater, but I would give some water movement and aeration. A pump would work the best.

I would cycle the rock like a tank, adding about 1ppm ammonia and let it sit for a month or so.

Don't know if a water change is needed first, but i suppose it couldn't hurt, and it doesn't cost much.

It gets down to the 30s at night here. The water in the Brute is about 60.

It is. I live in one of the two coldest cities in the 48. It doesn’t get above freezing for 4 months a year. My heater is off and I have no AC. Rarely gets above 85 here.
