I have a 25gal lagoon with a 30 gal sump cycling been cycling for almost a week. Started with Pre established MarinePure Ceramic balls.. I ran across a deal at a LFS a very small Purple tang for 85$ which is a killer deal.. soo I have a 10g quarantine that its going to go in.. can I take out the 2 small clown fish that are in the quarantine and put them in the cycling 25g.. also in 2 days I will be adding the Instant Ocean Bio-spira..

No, do not put anything in the cycling tank until it has %100 completed its cycle. No deal is worth risking your fish dying over.

I also have a STUPID big skimmer on the 25g meant for like 200g i bought used so this water will be pristine.

Your water may be prestine from dying or dead organics, but if its a cycling tank you are still going to register ammonia and nitrite, and ammonia in any amount is extremely toxic to fish.

so i can safely keep the 2 clowns and the small tang in the quarantine tank in the mean time? It's only 10 gallons
If the tang is small yes. And if you're concerned with them picking on each other, you can get stuff to separate them, such as eggcrate or a piece of acrylic with holes drilled in it to keep them apart. However you only have a 25 lagoon, no tang is recommended for a tank that small. Most tangs need a minimum of a 75 gallon and that's the Kole Tang and the Tomini Tang. Unless you plan on getting a much bigger tank in the near future (purple tang needs a minimum of a 125), i'd pass on the tang all together.

The tang will go in my Quarantine tank for now.. it will be going in the 25g temporary basically as a grow out tank for now this thing is TIIINY!! i have an established larger tank but it would die if it went straight in there..

Soooo... I just tested my 25gal.. and i think it might be cycled the other day it was readying ammonia and nitrite now its only reading nitrate

Do you have a source of ammonia like a piece of raw shrimp or feeding the tank? A week generally isn't long enough.

A tang is far far too big for a tank that small. Dont think about what the parameters are, that really doesnt matter, wait for them to reach stability.

If you can add 2ppm ammonia and it's gone after 24 hours, then yes i'd say the tank is cycled and the clowns can be moved over. How long have they been in quarantine, and were you running any treatments in quarantine?

they were locally bred out and tank raised. The breeder ran small treatments before hand

Sure you do. Thats why you're asking cycling questions about fish a week into your build. Im so tired and frankly amazed these posts still exist. Just do some research my friend and slow your roll. It'll be a while before you can safely add fish like that. Let it mature first. Others are so nice on here and I don't wanna be the wet rag but.... I know we were all newbies but if I had half the info at my fingertips as nowadays, Id certainly be a lot richer. You just need to LISTEN to the stories and advice
