That’s really personal preference. A lot of people are moving to the “minimal” look, but i like a complete wall of rock. Just make sure you don’t have so much Rock that you’ll have dead spots. If you have Little Rock in your display but want more bio filtration, add some in your sump to make up for it

I will be running a Tidal 75 with sea chem matrix in a filter bag And some filter floss that’s it, gonna keep the bioload very minimal 1 clown fish and snails and see how things go. Will mostly be doing softies, zoas etc

I did a BB tank before but wanted to try sand substrate to keep some of sand fish possible a goby, some inverts etc. This will be my first time with sand is it that big of a deal even if I get Nassarus snails, sand sifting star,etc

sand is fine as long as you’re constantly cleaning it. If you don’t, you’ll notice your parameters will start to get out of whack a little. That’s why a lot of people are now going bare bottom

what are the best ways to keep it clean without having to vacuum the entire bed? I will try and use a lot of the sand snails and diamond goby if that fails then sand will be siphoned out
