Cycling tank

Hi I’m very new to the saltwater aquarium hobby. Well I’m adding my water now, so do I Iput my filter socks in my sump while cycling for the first time? Thanks for all your help.

Filter socks? Sure. They'll clog somewhat quickly if you have sand and didn't rinse it extensively.

I will suggest not to add filter socks when you cycle. You can add them once you are done with cycling.

I'd definitely run them. I'd have some extra socks on hand because they'll clog quickly with the dust from the new sand, but It will clear up the tank pretty fast.
