Cycling tank

I just bought my first saltwater tank its a EVO 13.5 gal I thought it would be a good starter tank. So the problem im running into right now is that the salinity in low (31 PPT)

If you do not have any livestock in the tank then just raise it up to 34-35 ppt.

That is fine. Fish are perfectly fine in that (I don't recommend cycling with fish in the tank) . Heck, it might make cycling faster as the cycling bacteria can reproduce more quickly.

I agree with the baskets, increased water clarity almost instantly.
Just get slightly higher salinity as you make more saltwater for water changes and it should go up.

I don't know about the water boxes, but using them for the evo definitely helps.
