Cycling with a ReefMat

Hi everyone, I’ll be starting the cycle on my Red Sea Reefer 350 G2 soon. My question is in regards to the reef mat. Should I wait to install it until after the tank has cycled or is it okay to use during the cycle?

It's completely fine to use it during the cycle.

I have the Reefmat 1200 and when the water raises it doesn’t auto feed enough role to stop the water from over flowing out the side where the sensor is.

does this sound defective or does your dot the same thing? The one for my RS170 when the floater would float up it moved the mat roller until water lowered. This seems to only move a little bit but not enough to clear the water completely.
