Hello there! Just wondering because dr Tim’s website states that you are suppose to add ammonia drops (4 per gallon if I remember correctly) on the third day but I will be not at home for about 2 days so is it okay if I add the ammonia 1 day later than usual?

Okay thanks for the help

Yes as well

Houston we got a problem. My tank (Nuvo 10) ammonia is still 2ppm after 4 days. The first day I dosed a dr Tim’s 2oz bottle of One and Only and four days later , still 2ppm! I was impatient and opened another bottle and dosed 3 capful of bacteria to try to speed up the cycle. Isn’t the one and only supposed to start reducing ammonia on the third day? Any input greatly appreciated:)

@Ghost_Rebel5 - here are my tests through day 6. Ammonia still high during dosing but nitrites and now nitrates spiking.

Wow your Params are on point! Good job [emoji106] maybe your cycle should be completed in a week or less

This is my params still not showing any ammonia reduction. If it’s no working, I am going to get BioDigest start up......

8.7+ is a pretty high ph. Is that cause you aren’t sure about the accuracy?

Don't feel bad I'm on day 8 and still at 2ppm on ammonia. I added bacteria and ammonia on day one and still waiting for ammonia go down. Also i don't have sand and was reading that it will take longer

Why did your salinity drop in 3 days? What tool you using for testing SG and other parameters ?

@Tuan’s Reef - if you meant my #s, there’s a note I did a 10% water change at day 3 to get my salinity down to 36ppt. I’ll take it to 35 eventually but it’s close enough for me now.

I’m using a BRS refractometer, Red Sea marine care test kit, and hanna alk checker

It’s a bit of a Long story. I was away for a school camp for 3 days and when I came back, my nuvo 10 third chamber water level was so Low that the sicce 0.5 was releasing a ton of Microbubbles into the the display, all because I accidentally forgot to place the ato in the third chamber, instead, I installed it in the second chamber. The second chamber water level was constant while the third chamber water level quickly dropped, causing the salinity change.

The ph test kit is a bit funny. I am going to get a new one later today at a local LFS after school

Just bought a new ph test kit going to test later tonight

Going to go Prodibio since the dr Tim’s is not working
