Hi, back in September I set up a 10g nano and started the cycling with pure ammonia from Dr.Tim’s and Fritzzyme 9 ( idea from YouTube video). I was tracking ammonia and nitrite for almost 1 month but nothing happened. Ammonia stayed at 1-2ppm and nitrite at 0.5-2ppm - no nítrate every. I was getting super anxious so finally I left the tank to run on its own for another 3-4 weeks. A couple of days ago I got the urge to have some fish by Christmas so I ordered Fritz Turbo Start which I received today (also got a Swedish fish - one of my faves!) I wanted to see if anything happened and tested the water.
Ammonia: 0.5ppm
Nitrite: 2ppm
Nítrate: 5 or 10 ppm (hard to tell colors apart)
Should I add the Fritz turbo start? Will the ammonia kill off the new bacteria or is it safe? I think the cycle is moving along suuper slowly so If I add turbo will it speed up the cycle or end it? Thanks.

I just ordered the cycling kit as well. I have used it in the past and it worked well. Not sure if its safe to add now or not but I would think it would be

You’re good. I’ve used fritz turbo start in the past and cycled tanks in under a week.
You want the ammonia in there for a good source for the turbo start. You’ll be zero in a day I bet.
You’ll probably want to add another 2ppm of ammonia once zeroed. Then check 24 hours later and if it’s zero again you’re ready for fish.
