So I started the cycle on my little 10G cube on Saturday. I have live sand, and piece of Caribsea life rock. I put in some Turbo Start and also added a good amount of skim from my 100G. I got the wife to add 5 ML of skim again today (the wife that hates reef tanks and wont do anything to help me) and the reading this evening of Ammonia today in up to about 1 - 2ppm.

I cycled my 100G completely different, with live rock, so really did not see any spike. At what point can i throw a couple of crabs and snail from the big tank in?

all those steps are beyond whats required, liferock is painted with everything needed to cycle in about 10 days all you do is add saltwater. the sand was already cycled, the extra steps are no harm though. the extra items added didnt hurt and didnt help, neutral impact. One benefit of providing cycling bac only with what’s needed is less algae fuel for the new system

The sand, life rock and turbo start will make you tank ready for crabs and snails in 5-7 days...the ammonia from skimate will be OK but for a less messy version i would just ghost feed

I don’t mind the skim. Just syringe a little out and squirt it in :)
