Cycling without ammonia

Can i cycling my tanks without ammonia? I have cycling my tanks about 2 weeks now but doesn't add any ammonia to my tank.. but, i add some pellet food to feed the bacteria.. is it good? Thanks for your help

Adding pellets will increase ammonia levels, yes. Although slower than the Ammonium Chloride route.
