So my question is this... Since my liferock is on back order, I won't be able to get until after christmas or the new year. I was wondering since this is the only thing i am waiting on, IE i have all the filtration and media for my tank, can i go ahead and begin cycling my tank with the biosphere media i currently have, or once i put the rock into the tank if it were already cycling it would basically reset the process?

Sorry if this is a total noobie question. I was just curious and im anxious to start doing something lol.

I cycle my tank with a bunch of Eshopps Bio-Lux Ceramic Media in the sump. It was advertised to have really large surface area that would put my display rock to shame. I am still working on glueing my display rocks but I do not want to wait and want to start cycling the tank ASAP. Also, I am on a Christmas/New Year vacation for 2 weeks so by the time I get back, my tank would be done with the cycle. I will just finish my aquascape after I get back.
I just want to be efficient. :-)

Also, I added one bottle of Brightwell XML and one bottle on Fritzyme turbo 900.

Do you do this with already cycled media or fresh media. Since this is a new tank and not having any media already cycled this would be a fresh start. Would that still be beneficial? or should i just wait for my rock to come in and do it all at once.

It is a brand new tank with all brand new equipments, brand new dry dead sand, and fresh new mixed salt water.
Oh, I also have 4 fresh water mollies that I acclimated to salt water to provide ammonia for my Brightwell XML and Fritzyme turbo start 900.

The mollies are doing great. They do not get marine ich and are great algea grazers.
