Hi guys when cycling do u need to do water changes?
Will I need to clean my rocks from time to time?
Is there any fish I can cycle with?

Id say I did not need any water changing or rock cleaning. I cycled with flake food only once every three days, and I got a cycle within 6 weeks and that's with dry rock and dry sand. Also, I did a water change when I got the highest peak of nitrates which was at 70 ppm I believe, ammonia 0 and nitrite 0 hth, good luck

Thanks buddy that's cleared a lot up for me. I've got dry rock in there at the moment. Hiring it won't take to long. Did u use live sand?

I've never cleaned a rock, what do you mean by cleaning a rock? I've got a percula clown that I've had since day one, I was worried and didn't think he would make it I've never put a fish in so soon and I didn't even have measurements or a heater at the time. He is going strong though, I have everything kept at the level I want now. I just saw the start of an algae bloom after 7 days today so I will start testing to monitor the cycling of the tank. Normally Damsels can go in immediately, the fish guy told me a clown is just as hardy and he may be correct. I cycle with a lot of live rock though, in 29 gallon tank I put a full bag of live sand, and 25lbs of live rock so far, I will still add more though I want about 40lbs. The live rock will speed up cycling a ton, and if you can get it, live sand from a fish tank is the best IMO.
