I setup a 120 a week ago. It has live sand and some live rock. I plan on putting all my live rock and sand from my 29 gallon in it too. Is it safe to go ahead and put my fish from my 29 in it when I put everything else? Or should I wait?

Only sure way to know is to test the big three (Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate).

I did something similar but had a small spike so I waited for fish. I dosed a small amount of ammonia and waited to see how quick it converted to nitrate.

I would say not. I'd recommend getting some test kits so you know where your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are at while you're starting the nitrogen cycle in your system. After a week it won't be anywhere near ready and if you're introducing more rock and sand it will be disrupted again.

I have test kits and everything tests fine. I'm adding 60 pounds of live rock and sand that's crammed in my 29 that's been in a tank up and running for 1 1/2 yrs.
