My Cynarina ate a tiny cerith... I saw it! But, I had no idea they did that... well, I wondered if this was normal. Anyway, it was too late/ (in the mouth,) to stop it/intervene. It’s been weird, since. Doesn’t look good. Something is off. It’s not as bubbly. And, specifically... there’s a black spot on 1 side of the mouth. TBH... it looks like the snail got stuck. I don’t know snail anatomy but, it’s the larger end (I think.) I saw it ingest small/pointy part (first) and it disappeared completely. The next day, I saw the black spot. I thought it might ... how do I say this? Get rid of the shell part? All water parameters are good. The only thing different is I started using a reactor (to lower nitrates) and it wiped it out / no nitrates. I’ve turned it off and I’m watching it / I try for less than 10, but not 0. My corals are used to some nitrates. And, I do feed them ... LPS pellets every 3 days.
Any thoughts? Is the consumption of snails normal? I’m not positive that’s what it is (the black spot)... should I wait and see? Dip it? It’s not dead... but, it’s not the normal, bubbly, healthy/happy, either. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated! I can attach picture tomorrow/ my lights are out for the night.

Well, that's something you don't see every day... Yes, some images when you have a chance might help.
Will do! I’m curious what it will look like tomorrow. I hope the black spot is gone, and I feel stupid. Lol
I’ll update:)

You can't police your system 24/7.
Sorry, so late... posting pics. The day happened... First, chance at “home” time.
My picture skills are horrible. It looks worse today. It’s extremely retracted (smaller) and you can’t (usually) see the frag plug or holder. And, I’m not sure if they call their center, a mouth. But, it’s open (gaping). But, it’s moving/alive. I’m testing my water/parameters. I’ll update if something is off. Thanks

Yikes!!! It's not getting any better. The black spot is gone. But, it's s pretty shriveled. Still alive, but I'm not sure, for how long. I'm going to try dusting it with Reef chili... and, see if that will make it perk up. Parameters are good, and I got some trace nitrates /day 4, since turning off the reactor. Better than 0. Fingers crossed/watch and wait :)
