Hey y’all, I bought a red brick cyphaestrea from top shelf during their sale event, and it arrived with a white spot near one of the polyps. I tried gently brushing it off and doing a dip but it seems like slight bleaching. Can anyone confirm, and if so, what is the best course of action to help it recover. I attached a pic. Let me know if you would like it in white light.
Params:
Ammonia/nitrite: <.02
Nitrate: 7.5
Calc: 500
Mag: 1440
Alk: 8.6
Ph: 8
Temp: 81
Current par estimation for coral: 100-120

It definitely doesn't look in the best of conditions. It may have gotten stung shortly before you getting it. I would advise moving it into a lower flow area to see if it improves.

Mine does better with some nitrites. Yours maybe too low. I give mine low(50Par) light. I've notice a huge growth of new mouths since Ive started feeding it meaty foods and pellets.

Should I leave it there for a few days and observe or move it to lower light? My tank is currently fallow, so I’ve been dropping in a few pellets to keep up nutrients.

I dont exactly know what par your at, but I feel like lower light will never kill a coral but too much does.
I attached a pic of where it’s at now and the lowest light area in my aquarium. My fear is that it will be almost completely covered. Do you think I should move it under the arch?
