I must start with two apologizes:

1 - cyphastrea may or may not be SPS. I have heard strong arguments for and against. Ha!

2 - sorry for the mega blue picture

I had a large cyphastrea frag that I split into a few pieces. It has been a couple months and I see a bit of growth finally. Just today, I noticed that under actinic lighting, the edge is glowing green. Is that common? The picture only shows a bit of the green color but will give you an idea.

Thanks!

Depends on the system/cyphastrea. Some like meteor shower grow with a brown edge leading to the main color, etc. if it's a different color and thin looking it's growth. All is good.

Many corals new growth starts as green, not all of them but a considerable amount. Your cyphastrea looks healthy!

Definitely growing, thanks! Picture doesn't show the extent of the green edge.
