Once in a while my Cyphastrea that I've had for about a month will look like this with the polyps with their mouths completely open. Is he feeding or is this a negative response to the light? I think he might be getting too much light where he is. I don't have the par readings or anything...

Mine liked high light in my 120 with halides. Its still doing well in my frag system under 16hds.
Branching type upper left and pinkish. Mine never looked like yours. I would say not enough light if everything else is good.

It only does that once in a while...I think I might change my light settings a little to tweak them because it does definitely respond differently during different times of day as my lights change

All your corals will like you better if you pick your lighting and avoid tweaking it, imo.

I haven't changed it for many months...I was just going to tweak it now because I'm trying to cut down on some algae growth that I suspect is due to having my whites too high since my nutrients are pretty low and since I just added my first acro yesterday I want to have the lighting done so I won't have to change it after the acro gets used to things. I'm not a chronic tweaker or anything
