Cyphastrea that never opens?

I've had this nice cyphastrea for a minute and it seems happy,has spread a lot but I don't recall it ever opening up it's polyps. Is this weird? Thanks.

My meteor shower that I had for several years never opened much. I would see pictures of them with big flower looking polyps but mine never looked like that. I never did figure it out. It grew very well and was colorful it just never had big polyps

Similar issue with me, used to be open, now isnt. I had a sea spider outbreak and it showed similar signs during that but I can't find any of those. I do see some things that resemble the dreaded black bugs though those were there even when it was open, the only other thing that comes to mind is low nutrients as my po4 is now 0.03 as apposed to 0.06 when it was open
