Cyphastrea with a fan?

Wondering people’s thoughts on this cyphastrea. It has a fan that bounces in and out. Is that normal? Has it just encrusted over something else? Pretty cool watching it but cannot find anything online that talks to this. The video won’t load so all I can show are some pics but it’s cool to watch it. Pokes out for a few seconds and then goes back in and out again!

Yeah that’s pretty much it! It comes right out of the cyphastrea from the day I got it a few months ago which is why I was so perplexed. So if that’s the case then the cyphastrea just encrusted over it?

Once the barnacle dies, it will encrust over. Barnacle wont hurt the coral. It already did the damage it needed to do to establish a home.
