*d2mini's 200g Reeftastic Reef - Part Deux!*

Very nice, please keep the pic's coming!

Wow great build can't wait till I can have a fish room thanks for sharing..My wife already gave the go to do as I want in the garage for my fishroom but will have to wait so busy..so I will just live it through this build for now lol..

Reminder; when ready to do the sheets start at the top and leave about 2" of the floor.

The first tank looks so awesome! If this is going to be an improvement over that one, I definitely want to tag along to watch it come together.

The old tank is out! :clap2:
Bunch of local reefers volunteered to come out and lend a hand this morning, and the tank left with a new owner.

UPDATE:

Insulation is up. :)
Also had an electrician come in to wire up the two ceiling cans and two extra outlets that I had installed earlier in the week.
Should get sheetrock started this week.
I'm not doing it, though. I hayyyyyyyyte taping and floating and don't have a vehicle to transport the sheetrock anyway. Calling in the pros.

Will your auto WC station be in this room or outside?
Also remember if you planning on hanging heavy objects from the walls to bring in extra support now you can.
Measure the dimensions from a give point and when sheet rock will go over it you still know where you have that extra support.
You saw my room and all i have stacked on the shelf's, without extra support it would be hard as in most cases your studs never line up with the equipment you want to hang from the walls.

The freshwater container and the saltwater container (both 65g horizontal tanks) will remain exactly where they were before which puts them outside this room, right up against the new wall.
The AWC will be run via peristaltic pumps hooked up to my Profilux and controlled via level sensors in the sump.
So all I have to do is run two 1/4" water lines through the wall, plus another for my ATO which will probably be located in the same spot as the other two tanks.
The water changed out via the AWC or added from the ATO is so small that there will be no effect on the tank from the temperature in the garage outside this room.

The fish room is structurally complete!
Including 3 coats of Zinsser Perma-White moisture resistant semi-gloss paint.
I also began cutting an access window in the sheetrock to access the rear box of the overflow.
You can still see the original holes from the previous build.
Time to start laying out the shelving/stands!
The wall with the extension cords is where the sump, frag tank, refugium and mangrove tank will all reside.
It's nice and toasty in there now that the heat is running.
Hopefully in the summer it gets nice and cool!

Oh, and the tank is finally at my LFS. :whoo:
It's all wrapped up but I got a sneak peak and it looks really nice.
Much better built than the old DSA tank.
Still waiting on the overflow to be built and the beananimal holes drilled.

Here's pics of the fish room...

Really nice work/play area you built:) Maybe ask Santa for a Solar Tube with adjustable closing lens cover.....

Sneak peak and I hugged your tank today, lol

Good stuff, following along. I'll be setting up a 150DD in the future so I refer to your old cube thread often for inspiration. Also thinking about going with a lifereef skimmer as well.

haha, yeah... natural sunlight would be cool over the frag tank. :D
That's just 20-30' of empty attic space above.

Don't touch the d2mini tank! My PRECIOUSSSSsssss!
Unless of course you want to deliver it. lol ;)

Sweet fish room! Time to set it up with all that fun stuff.
How are all your corals doing in their temporary home?
Mostly I think they are doing ok. Hard to tell exactly since I don't have a view from the sides, only the top.
I did lose a sensitive aussie gold torch in the very beginning but other than that everything seems to be doing alright.
Maybe a little color loss here or there but again, kinda hard to tell.

Well done. Looks like a great drywall job ;)
I'd say thank you, but I called in a pro on that. ;)
Showed up at 9am with the supplies and he had both sides of both walls completely rocked, taped and floated by 1pm.
Then he let it fully dry, came back and 6pm and primed both sides.
Cost me a pretty penny but it saved me a week (on and off) of my own labor/time!

Cool, i miss that cube!
Can't go wrong with LifeReef. Ever since I got mine and started talking about it they've been flying off the shelves.
Jeff even says so here on his build schedule!
Lifereef Build Schedule
