*d2mini's 200g Reeftastic Reef - Part Deux!*

Right on well let me know when your ready i need a reason to venture that way now that UA is closed ;)

Almost done with the frag rack!
But I ran out of egg crate.
Up close, it ain't pretty, but it's functional and that's all that really matters since it's soon going to be covered in coralline. ;)
I wanted to block as little flow as possible through the frame.

1/2" Acrylic Rod

Awesome design!!! Can you share some of the specs? What is the height spacing between the tiers? Etc

Thanks

Thanks.
The vertical posts start off at about 2" tall and go up from there to 4", 6", 8", etc. Approximately.
And you can count the egg crate squares to see the depth of each shelf and there is only like 1 row of overlap per shelf so height between each shelf isn't really an issue.
With of the frame itself is about 25.5". My 40b tank has an overflow on one end so I needed to make sure I had plenty of room to clear that.

Here's a couple shots of the overflow.
Toothless the entire span for ultimate surface skimming.
It has a 3-section removable cover.
The covers prevent fish and snails from entering by having a top plate and also a rail underneath it that won't let much more than water past the front lip.
First pic shows the overflow during normal operation.
Second pic shows the right most cover removed and sitting on top of the eurobrace.
Overall, the overflow is about the same width as the eurobrace.

Ugh! I thought I'd get by and no one would say anything.
Now I'm going to have to!!!

At least my paper towels are all white.

Do you by chance have a pic of the removable covers for the coast to coast before it was installed? I was thinking about using gutter guard on mine since I'm doing the toothless overflow.

I would like to see the design on how they were made and sit on top of the coast to coast for such a cleaner look.

No, I don't have a pic.
But it's basically just the top plate, and then running the length of the top plate glued to it's underside are two rails with one of them being spaced so that it sits maybe 1/8" back from the front lip of the overflow.
You can kinda see it in the second pic i posted above.
The cover is sitting on the rails.

Finished the 4th and final level of the frag rack last night. :)
Now to get it in the tank and stocked full of frags!

Love the fish room and tank. Curous how you have your returns setup in the new tank?

Thanks. :)
I'll have to get a pic.
I have a 1.5" return that comes up and splits into two 1" lines, one heading to each rear corner of the tank.
Then those hook 90 degrees and head down towards the water surface were they convert down to a 3/4" loc-line Y splitter with two 3/4" loc-lines.
So i have a total of four 3/4" loc-line outputs.
