*d2mini's 200g Reeftastic Reef - Part Deux!*

Here's a little video I took of my cheato in the new refugium.
I present to you... "Dance of the Cheato". :D

LOL! Nerd!

Been a few weeks but Diesel Invaded the d2mini ReefCave.
Sneaked into the garage as D was mixing salt at the AW barrel.
Room is super nice and all is topnotch, was surprised that a lot more is coming as Dennis mentioned but can't reveal as promised.
Job well done my fellow neighbor hobbyist.

I think this HPS grow light is working.

Cheato when i first put it in.
The size of a softball, and pretty dense.

And here it is ELEVEN days later.
It has opened up quite a bit from the gentle suspended rotation, but it has definitely grown.

I also got my filter canisters this week, so i got that manifold plumbed in and have carbon running in one of them.
I also added some RGB LED strip lighting above the sump. :D

Wow, that's impressive!

Everything is looking great! How often and how much will you trim off the cheato? And, most importantly, how do you get it to slowly spin like that?!

Wow. That is cool.

Thanks! I'm quite surprised myself. :)
Tested nitrates and I would assume just from being what is basically a new tank, they are testing <1 or undetectable.
Don't know how much that has to do with the cheato growth. But I really need to get more fish in the system!

Thanks! I'm going to let it keep going. I want to see how big it will grow before I lose the rolling.
The water enters the refugium at the top right and flows out of the spray bar that runs the entire length from front to back on that top right side.
It's pointed to the left, so it's creating a gyre in the tank, causing the cheato to roll.
I have a valve to adjust the flow so I allow just enough to put it into a slow roll.
I don't want it bouncing all over, which will damage the chaeto and cause it to break up.

:boink: See if it responds. I'd set it on fire around 2 months in.:flame: I'd be afraid the chaeto would turn into a algae monster and devour the city. Holy smokes that is a massive (understatement) amount of growth.

 Maybe I need a tight fitting lid!
