d2mini's 25g Office Lagoon

tank looks awesome man!did you you keep stock pump? i found it wayyy too loud. went with the eheim compact 600 and its dead silent now . i stuck 2 rw-4 to the back wall and use the finnext titanium heater which is perfect for that one column. sweet job
Thanks! :)
Yep, running the stock pump. I don't notice the noise at all. The only thing that i find noisy is the ghost skimmer.
How's the specs on that 600 compared to the stocker? More flow? Fits ok?

The 600 is less gph and doesn't fit the connecter part bit does fit the tubing ..you can let it suspend or just put some food grade mats like i did to prop it up or just find a different connection. I have 2 rw 4 going so I'm not concerned about flow from the return .I believe it's only 35 less gph . I went with the aquamaxx hob 1 skimmer , I know its not as nice looking but functionality and noise lvl blows the ghost out of the water . I'm going sps dominant too so ya might consider it . I run 2 in tank baskets with floss chemu blue and a small bag of eco bak ez biopellets that are supposed to work even without a reactor ...we shall see how it pans out

Took a top-shot while doing a water change today, gives a different perspective.
That blob of epoxy in the middle is me killing a green monti. :p

Beautiful! Why kill the monti? It pops!

Thanks, Rev!
Not the bright kelly green ORA Psammacora... the plain green monti that you can barely see poking out at the top.
It overtakes pretty much any other SPS. I no longer put any encrusting montis on the same rock as any other sps... I usually isolate them on the sand bed or their own rocks now. :)

Looking good! So how many tanks do you have up and running now days? My one tank keeps me busy, can't imagine trying to keep up with more than 1.

Thanks man, and I'm right there with you on that... I have just this one!
Had to tear down the 200g because we moved.
I upgrade my little 10g nano tank at my office to this 25g so I could hold on to some of my coral from the big tank until I can get another tank set up at the new house. :)

Couple more pics.
Everyone comes out during feeding time... especially for @ReefFrenzy . I especially like to watch the porcelain crabs and pistol shrimp. :)

Cool!

What lens are you using? If you already stated I apologize. Your shots are very good. Are you taking your shots with MH and LEDs on? How is the balancing with MH/LED combo?

Does it sound like another nano at home? Or you going same size or bigger?

Nikon 105mm VR.
Yes, i took these with all lights on and adjusted white balance in lightroom.

Not a nano, but no 200g this time, either.
Thinking something around 4' long. Or maybe a 3' cube again. I dunno yet.

Your old cube was one of my all time favorites. I'd go that route in a heart beat.

Curious why you don't want to go large again?

Yeah, that cube was fun. :)
The smaller route isn't a want, but a need. We lost 1000+ sq ft in the move and the new place has a very open floor plan, so very little open wall space.

If I were you. I dont have the space. I would go 30x30x24... and do a single 400w MH Spectra with 4 t5s and then add on dual reefbrites for pop. If I could get away with it, that would be my dream tank.

Yeah, i would do at least 36".
My old cube was 36x36x24 with the AquaPhoton light... single de mh and 4 t5.

Swapped out the knock-off Ushio 20k for a real deal Phoenix 14k.
There's a subtle difference and hard to show in pics but it's a little more crisp blue/white, less pink than the Ushio.

Looks great and nice photo!

Looks really good! Any chance of video? I'd like to see how the flow looks being you have a mixture of high flow/lower flow coral in a smaller tank.
