d2mini's "Essential Focus" Mixed Reef Build

What a great thread, and beautiful tank setup!
Rn I have a water mixing station, but its in a distant closet so have to wheel the water to the tank. Would be expensive to plumb 1" PVC for AWC, but with ¼" RO tubing, should be easy!

Just wondering, how do you pump water out of tank using RO line, and do you have any peristaltic pump recommendations besides an expensive Cole Parmer? I thought maybe I use two ATOs (I have an Avast perist.) Thnx!

Look on eBay for cheap single speed cole parmers. Or get the kamoer from BRS. :)

Your still running the Kamoer FX-STP? Just got mine and it refuses to spin if I go over about 90-100ml/min. Have you had this happen with yours?

I posted a thread about it but no replies and I’m not finding many other people running it yet.

No, i didn't have that issue but i'm not running it anymore. I got rid of the CaRx.

Floor progress?

Before.... (and yeah, i know... but pics don't show all the rotted floor, crappy cabinet craftsmanship and other issues ;) )

Ah I must have missed that, my apologies didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Your "before" house was amazing, can't wait to see after!

No worries. :)
And thanks. We had floor issues, and we had issues with the space being TOO open if you could imagine. Everything but the bedrooms was basically one big open space. And then we're like if we're messing with all that, might as well redo the cabinetry that had its own issues and wasn't our style anyway... too traditional. The new look should be pretty killer. :)

Holy cow! Are you living there while this is happening?
With two little kids, two cats and a dog. ;Blackeye
My son's bedroom turned into the fishroom/kitchen, and his bed is now in my daughter's room. And until bedtime, EVERYONE is in MY bedroom.

Lollol! You crazy! How long will you hafta live like that? Been there done that! Not as bad as your redo though. Just bad enough.

Oh man my old house had a game room upstairs that had an open wall to the downstairs. While I was watching a movie downstairs, I could hear EVERYTHING in the game room. Of course loud teens upstairs made it very loud downstairs and watching two different movies was impossible. The house looked great and sold fast but was not practical.

Good luck on the new build! That is a ton of work!

The quality of your corals and pics hurts my eyes they are so good!

Did you take that holding the camera with your hand or tripod?

That's a top down pic using the avast marine lens thingie. So handheld.
But uhhh... i never use a tripod. My lens has I.S. so that helps. :)

Dennis, I have a Nikon D5600. What Macro lens would you suggest for this camera to TRY an duplicate your pics? I bought this camera a year ago and could not get the macro shots with the lens that it came with and have hardly used the camera since buying. Thanks
