I picked up a used Reef Keeper Lite for my QT tank. I'm trying to use the MyReef 2.0 software to set it up, but the program just seems to crash immediately after opening. I've tried running it in Windows 8 and Windows 7 compatability modes, but the same thing happens. I'm running it on a Surface 4 with Windows 10.

Anyone have experience with this?

have you looked here:

If you have already install MyReef, uninstall, perform this action, then re-install.

This is straight from the Microsoft Website (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insi ... 7a4?auth=1)

a) Press “Windows Logo” + “R” keys on the keyboard.

b) Type “appwiz.cpl” in the “Run” command box and press “ENTER”.

c) In the “Programs and Features” window, click on the link “Turn Windows features on or off”.

d) Check if the “.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)” option is available in it.

e) If yes, then enable it and then click on “OK”.

f) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation and restart the computer, if prompted.

re-install MyReef and enjoy!

Thanks for that!

I just gave it a try but still no joy. That framework was already enabled. I turned it off and back on, rebooted, reinstalled and still no go. :(

Email digital Aquatics support. I believe there was some other users that had this issue and there was a fix for it but I cannot remember what it was. I will see if I can look on my Beta Forum to see if I can find the answer

I emailed DA. They said it is a known problem and they hired an outside company to work on it. No indication of how long it will be though :(

I have a Surface tablet and it won't work on it but it works fine on my HP. both have Windows 10 installed.

Eric has sent a couple of versions to me to try but none have worked on the surface. Not sure what is different on the surface compared to the regular computer.

Got another email from DA. They don't have a definite date at this point, but expect it to be "weeks". That's better than "months" I suppose :(

Did you ever get this working? I'm running Win10 also and was excited when I got my SID in the mail today; only to find out there is a software bug that has yet to be resolved. ;Facepalm

FWIW, I have never bene able to get MyReef to work on my Dell laptops. I don't know if it's a driver compatibility issue or something of the sorts, because it works on my other computers.

It will run on the Surface when running in the safe mode on the latest build Eric sent me. I did not try and connect with any modules though. I know Eric is still working on the Surface issue. I am not sure on Dell it could be related though.

That’s progress at least. I tried running it every which way in the builds he sent me a while back but with no luck.

I have tried every which way to get myreef to run on my HP laptop running windows 10 with no joy. I am honestly considering buying an old laptop off craigslist with windows 7 just to get this running. I inherited a RKE v2 from my father in law - I really would like to be able to configure the setup differently than the way he had it.

Any luck on getting this to work?

I still have had no luck with it as well. Pretty frustrating.

I might do that too. Maybe find a $25-50 something at a yard sale. I have some super old laptops in the basement, like 10 years old. Wonder if I could make one of them work for this...
