I've had a few freshwater tanks over the past couple of years. Currently, I have 2 (well, 1 is my son's tank) 55G tanks that we've put a lot of time into. But, the dream of a salty has come to fruition and we have begun the journey into the saltwater world!
Current build (so far):
65G standard tank (used setup from LFS, included skimmer, HOB overflow box, sump pump, Current Satellite Plus LED light)
Cobalt Aquatics MJ-900
Sump box is a Rubbermaid container
We have 40 lbs of live rock in there (we've been slowly adding, started with about 15 lbs), hermits, snails, a peppermint shrimp, and the 2 latest additions, a couple of blue sapphire damsels (the parakeets of the tank, but girlfriend wanted something with a bit more color than chromis, but they are happy and have lots of hiding spots) and 4 frags.
1st night, we just did water and live sand. 2nd night, added 15 lbs of live rock.
12 hours later, tank is WAY clearer

We've now had the tank up for about 5 weeks now. Hardest thing for everyone is the patience in letting things slowly move forward, but we all enjoy just staring at all the things growing (copepods, amphipods, and hermits are the favorites at this point)!
