Hi I’m wondering if anyone can help me out. I’m currently dosing All For Reef 56ml daily on a 75 gallon water volume. And thinking of switching to BRS Two Part. Does anybody know how I can figure out my consumption to make my transition easier?

AFR is a little more potent (1.14x) than my DIY recipe #1 (BRS uses this recipe for their soda ash product).

So I suggest starting with 1.14 times as much (64 mL) of EACH part of the two part as the total volume of the AFR you were using, and adjust from there. Demand may go up a bit as the pH will be a bit higher.

Optimally, I recommend using Balling part C with this two part recipe, but you can DIY a third part using magnesium sulfate and chloride (not as good, but likely cheaper).

I would use alkalinity tests to determine how much you need to add. Stuff (sponges, endoliths, fish, biofilms) in our systems can provide alkalinity or DIC (HCO3, CaCO3). Test regularly as things grow and change.

Thank you I appreciate it! I’ll try that out!
