Hey,
I've had my aquarium going for about 3 months now, I haven't ran into any major issues yet.
My aquarium is 120 gal, salinity is 1.026, ammonia is 0, nitrite is 0, nitrate is about 60 ppm, PH is 8.1. 3 yellow tail damsels, 1 blue spotted puffer, 1 rock beauty angel, 1 squareback anthias, 2 clowns, 1 lawnmower blennie, 1 cleaner shrimp, 5 turbo snails.
I noticed last night that one of my damsel's face is turning black. just on half of his face, almost looks like a huge black eye that is covering half of his head. does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?
thanks!

do you have a picture?
Im not very good with fish disease or problems like that-never had to deal with it but when I had a damsel, he lost all reflectiveness on his face for a while. He was fine after.

It was difficult for me to get a picture. I can try again but I am at work until this evening so it will be a while before I could attempt to post a picture.

That's definitely not black ich although it is certainly curious. How long have you had the damsel?

Is it behaving normally otherwise?

damsels were my first fish in here so since end of August, early September. He is acting normal otherwise. all of my other fish are OK and I noticed this Monday night. I researched this and the only thing I could find was ammonia burn so I tested my water but my ammonia is 0. And it is the same since I noticed it Monday, no better and no worse.

I wouldn't worry too much, then.
