Hi guys, my Damsel thinks it's a Goby...

I bought a pink damsel 4 days ago and he's been doing very great. He swam around the entire tank all day but now I think he made a permanent home.

I didn't think Damsels did this? Is this a normal thing? He is the only fish in the tank! ( btw my rock looks white but its under a huge top so diatoms/coralline algae never grew there. Its a half year old tank)

Yup. I have a azure and a talbot that both do it.
So will he be less aggressive to other fish given he's just camped out in a hole now? I also heard pink damsels aren't too bad towards other fish compared to the blue damsels .

Do you have a full body pic. I’m not familiar with a “pink” damsel but they get sold under all sorts of different names. My talbot was sold as a red eye damsel, go figure.

I've never gotten a full body pic yet as he swims too fast! But this photo online is identical to it. 100%

I've never kept C. rex. I've never even seen one in person.

I do have 18 other Chrisyptera damsels and I love them. The only diggers are talbots, snd they really dont dig much.

As for aggression, there isn't too much and what bickerng there is is kept amongst themselves. They will posture a bit when other fish cruise through their area, but they ate mostly ignored by other fish.

I'm curious as to how colorful your Rex are? I have been debating ordering some bit I'm not sure how they look in person.

I have kept P. Alleni in the past and didnt like them. They were prolific diggers and more attitude than Chrisyptera.

I will try to get a good picture later today! My camera always exposes funny under the aquarium lights (photos look very dark blue) so once they turn off ill send a photo over! He's very pink, almost see-through as you can see the internal guts. I asked for a small one so it's probably still growing.

In the second image, you can see how transparent he is (look at the internal guts and what not)

Do you still have all your damsels - thinking about doing something similar - would love to see a pic of them?

Yes I still have them. I will try for a picture tonight
