alright, so i know most people dont care for damsels, i got a soft spot for them, so bare with me. my girl loves her four strip damsel(male) we've had him for just over a year, very mannered quite fish that loves being around others. never had problems. about a week or two ago we had a system crash and the only things to survive was this one and my tailbot damsel, white condy(still treating for bleaching if it is bleached), most the clean up crew, a baby feather duster(literally 1/4 tube), and the gsp. ive done many many many water changes small - big (5-40%) sense. all paramaters are back to being perfect, and aside from the calcifide pure white corpses of some of the corals i just left cuz the still look good even as skeletons(im abit morbid, i know) i did move the macro out of the refug and into the main tank on the side. so far every thing seemed to be recovering well, but then today the four stripe started looking sickly, like it was missing pigment, i dosed an antibiotic and gave it some enritched food to boost its immune system. but im doubtful itll make the night.

thoughts? the news of this got my girl crying, she loves her little damsel. :(

When you say you had a system crash, did an ammonia spike occur? If so, prolonged ammonia exposure can damage a fish’s gills, liver and kidneys. :(

Can you post pictures? Is it possible that he got injured during all the commotion?

well, this morning when i checked the water, yes, there was an ammonia spike and i did a %50 water change, NOW all parameters are in the clear. and he passed about 40 mins ago sadly. and yes, when the crash went down, there was alot of stress and his fins did get hurt, since then his fins had healed and til today, he was doing fine.

thank you for the fast responses they ment alot.

Sorry for your loss. :( I kinda like damsels too. If they just had better dispositions...
