Well - not really distress, but I have a question. I've had an average sized Haitian anemone for a few months now - which for the most part was completely ignored by fish. Last week I noticed my domino damsel getting all up close and personal... nothing unusual there, I've seen that before. After a couple of days with him thinking he is a clown, he stopped. Now his color is mottled - not quite like you would see with ick, but there are definitely lighter patches to his coloration. It is otherwise a perfectly healthy fish - eats well, swims actively, no signs of distress. Would I be correct in assuming that this is the result of the anemone? Interesting behavior change: The domino won't go near the anemone now, but ever since, my clown has taken up residence and won't leave! At night the nem retracts into a crevice in the rocks... the clown hangs out in the same spot waiting for it to come back out!
