Dang... Ich...

Hypo should not stress fish.

You should not catch heat, as it is your tank and you can do whatever you want., IMO.

You need to understand that if one fish has Ich, it IS in your system now and will not magically go away. Best case scenario is the fish left in the tank stay healthy enough to fight it and keep it at bay and the QT Tang gets healthy and can somehow fight it off when it is exposed again upon re-entry. Unless it is really bad off, I would almost not QT it.

Any new additions run the risk of getting Ich moving forward too. I would still QT, as they could have something else worse, like Velvet.

Update:
Everything is doing fantastic. The blue tang is still eating, and no ich has popped backed up, so I'm hoping the hypo has killed the trotents. Going to give here another 3 weeks in the QT. No Signs of ich on the main tank. Which, doesn't matter now, I'm pulling all the rock out soon (minus about 10 pounds that is about 5 years old.) And I will drop it in bleach/tap water, rinse a few times, and then transfer it to my new 240 gallon rimless that is on its way from glass cages. That's a whole separate thread.
Anyways. Stress free fish, and hypo on the carrier seems to have cured my problem, for now. And next time, I won't be so quick to forget my qt set up.
I've always qted new livestock. And the one time I didn't, I paid.

And tangs are prone to ich!Choose from your small fish store a sailfin tang. It's better than blue ones.Less expensive;hardy and live a lot.

You have a volitan ?I heard that they are banned because of they danger that have for aquariums! They can eat everything and they can sting you as well.

You know more about these invaders named volitans more than me.They are less dangerous than piranhas that ripe of you flesh.Ahhh the lion doesn't eat your $$$$$$ over time.I better pray that lionfish will be thrown in WC after many years because they eat everything on theyre path and didn't die easily.

This is the best thing !To donate them to zoo.I do the same with my leopard discus and RES .Discus that i sell and donate are eating$$$$$$.Sorry from jumping from tangs to other subjects.

Well, if your somehow allergic to the sting, it night make you. But I've been stung a few times and it was like a bee/wasp sting. That throbbed for 2 days after.

Two days of throbbing pain might be inconsequential to a devil dog, but some people don't care for it.
