I have flatworms. This is a Red Sea Reefer Nano. They're currently covering one rock in my tank. Completely covering it and have made their way onto a mushroom I have and the shroom was shriveled up - which is how I found them.. The rock they're on has been live rock for at least a year, maybe two years - the rocks that they aren't covering was dry rock and has only been in the tank for a couple of months now. I assume they're only on the one rock because it has the algae/food that they're after. which could be a good thing, keeping them contained.
I know most of my options and would like to try the natural route. I don't want to get into chemicals if I don't have to (Saliferts Flatworm Exit).
Here's my issue, the best option I've seen is to introduce a wrasse to the tank. This is only an 18" cube so not sure if a Melanurus wrasse or Coris wrasse would be fit for a tank this size. I don't want a six line due to aggression issues. The same goes for damsels, which i've heard will eat flatworms.
Should I just get a juvenile melanurus/coris wrasse and rehome it when it outgrows the tank?
Or try a "less aggressive" damsel?
Or possibly a couple nudibranch? I just assume these would die once the flatworms are gone.
Recommendations?
