I this hobby it is very important to plan ahead. As for your heat issues, you could build a small LED fixture for like $90 from RapidLED.com. All you need to know is how to solder. The LEDs would allow you to keep any coral, they run cooler, and use less energy.

yeah i was looking at adding some led to it and try to get a full spectrum look to the tank, but if rapidled got some good deals i might just change it all over to led and go full spectrum leds

Your welcome, right now they have a sale on par38 bulbs. You can get one with 12 LEDs for $89. No soldering required, just screw into regular light fixture. They are normaly $99. Only on sale until the end of May.

What brand of salt do you use? If It is high in mag then that could be why you alk is high.

Right now all my salt water is come from my local Lfs tell I can get all the stuff to mix my water my self

just wanted to update about the tank im going to get more rock to add to the tank this weekend and i went to one of the local lfs and pick out some of the corals im going to add he's going to hold them for me, and im looking at redoing the filter media in the tank might do some live rubble in the back

well i havent had much time to get over to the lfs and get more rock im hopping tomorrow after work and ill add pics after i get the rock in
