Whoa! Vibrant put some of that in my tank also. I believe it's a type of spirulina. It was around the top edge of my water on the glass and I scraped it with a razor blade in my fish went crazy and ate it as it was scraping it. However they wouldn't touch it until I did that. I no longer have any in the DT but I discovered some in my sump all at the water line. Take a look around and see if you can find a thread about getting rid of spirulina. That might be of more help. I haven't had time to do that myself yet.

Did you stop using the Vibrant? My purple tang loves when I clean my glass :)

Yes a while back. I got cyanobacteria and was micro bubbling at night. Apparently without notice two nights and passed that the pump quit working. I don't know if it was not working for one night or two nights but that cyanobacteria exploded because of it. I wasn't getting anywhere with the bryopsis and vibrant anyway. Then I had heard about Fluconazole from a friend and decided to completely quit vibrant and go with that. It did a beautiful job my tank is almost completely clear of it with no effort on my part. However the only thing that gets rid of his green hair algae and bryopsis.

I had the same problem, I bought a gallon bottle of algae oust and dosed the tank every night until it stopped growing then just blasted the algae with a turkey baster

I hate autocorrect lol. I liked the clarity I got with vibrant but am concerned about this off the wall algaes showing up. Once the bryopsis disappeared I now have what looks to be a dusting of red turf algae. Although I did see it right before the cyano outbreak I'm not sure where it exactly started. It may have been in my system under the bryopsis all along and I just didn't notice it. Luckily apparently Mexican turbos eat it so guess what I'm going shopping for now?! LOL

Sounds good!! I'm probably going to stop. It definitely didn't start the outbreak but it just seems to have only accelerated it.

I've got some good news to report :). The Red Slime Remover has done a good job in killing the algae. I have dosed 1.5 times the directed amount. One day into the treatment I barely saw any difference. I dosed a second time 48 hours into it. I definitely saw a decrease in algae at that time. Today I barely see any algae what so ever!

The first two shots show 1 day into treatment. The third photo is 2 days into it. The fourth & fifth photos are today.
