hello all,

I just picked up a used 28g JBJ aio tank. I had been looking for a nc for some time now to put in the living room. My wife doesn't want to always have to go downstairs to look at the fish. I have a 65g down there. This tank is going to be maintained by me but stocked by my wife. Her tank, or something like that. She wants to have a pair of ice snowflakes, or platinum snowflakes and an anemone. It will also have mostly acans and zoas and probably some softies.

I took the hood off the tank, the ballast was fried because water got inside. The screws on the cover were also rusting, so hood came off. I purchased a razor nano, love my razor on the bigger tank so I stuck with what I knew. I debated going with the ai hydra 26hd, but the razor won out. I also picked up a tunze nano ato. I have 20lbs of Fiji pink and roughly 25lbs of dry rock.

I am still needing to get a skimmer, going with the aquamax hob1 because of the reviews. I am also going to change out the stock return pumps to maxi jet 1200's. For circulation I will be getting an mp10. I also want to change out the stock media basket with an intank basket.

That is all for now, any advice is appreciated. Pictures will follow.

Thanks for reading,

Dan.

Sounds like a plan! Stick with a bubble tip as most other nems will get to big. Should be sweet!

Even the bubble tips get to be good sized. The one in my 65g is about 6" to 8" diameter.

Rocks are in to cure. Once cured I am going to drain tank and put in my sand. Then start the cycle process.

Sounds like a good set up, I definitely will tag along. I recommend saving $60 on a media basket and do what I did. Build one for about $2 out of egg crate

I have mine but cut it just to hold sponge and filter floss because I have a eshopps psk-75 hob skimmer that goes in that section !!

Salt is mixed, sand will be going in today. Picking up a 5 gallon container for the ato storage water so I can get that set up today as well. Maxi jets and skimmer are on order.

Had a few delays on the build. My maxi jets shipped, then somehow got returned to the store without me ever seeing them. Got it worked out with the store and USPS. Just came in the mail today. Will be installing them this weekend. Also waiting for the mp10. Sand is in the tank now and the cycle is in process though. So it's progressing.

So after taking about a yr off, I'm back. Having a kid apparently keeps you really busy. I started this tank build shortly after my son was born. Then didn't have time to tend to it. Now that Connor is approaching a yr old. I'm able to start this thing up again.

The aqua max skimmer is set up.
The upgraded pumps are in.
The razor is set up.
Still have the stock media basket,
And just picked up the mp10wqd.
That will be getting set up this weekend.

Thanks for reading.
