Does anyone know what type of algea this is? It produces bubbles that float to the top, there is also a patch of purple and light green algea growing on top. It stating to grow on one of the corals, should I remove the rock and scrub it off.

Its cyano you can siphon it off easily.

I've never seen anything like that color wise. It's kinda pretty. My bet would be on cyano as well though.... just a new color for me.

Thank you my tank is about 1yr old
High PH 8.8 (Wow didn't know this!)
Ammonia 0.0
Nitrite 0.0
Nitrate 40
Temp 79.0
75 gal with a refugium

Do you have a phosphate kit?
did you test the ph twice? That's pretty wild

Do the darkest green parts of the Mat easily blow off like red cyano and come back?

I'll check the ph and phosphate tomorrow getting late but the green comes off if I scrape it with a tweezer.

PH is the same phosphate is 2.0
Wow. That's high.
There's something going on in your tank.
Test the Po again. Just to be sure there's no error. It does happen.

Are you on rodi water?
I'm actually thinking that's a sponge btw. With some cyano on top. If it's firm and can only be scratched off I'd bet it's a sponge.
If you have that high a Po and a sponge like that even though it's an awesome animal I'd bet there's a water problem.

May I see a current full tank pic?

Here it is n I use ro/di

K. Do you test Tds?

I need to wait till I'm home to look at this a bit closer.

Any other weird stuff happen?
Dead snails. Fish. Etc.

And agin how does the stuff feel.
Besides gross:D

I have not felt it, it's no thick either and it pretty much started to grow as soon as I set up my tank here's my ph n phosphate reading

If it doesn't blow off. It's not cyano.

Are you getting other sponge growth?

Forgot the pic have not test to what's that?
