I have a pair of ocellaris clownfish in bc 14. the male has new dark blotches on his head. I've heard this can be caused by stinging coral, but there is no coral in my tank. these spots weren't there yesterday or ever before. can someone tell whats happening? the spots are more noticeable in person. the other side of his head is worse I just couldn't get a picture.

Could the clown be getting bullied? Have you seen it exhibit behaviors where it's rubbing up against things?

he doesn't rub himself on things as far as I know.

the female does chase him around and nip him sometimes but this hand happened before. it looks like its missing some scales.

I'm pretty sure that either the female was a little rough on the male and some of his scales came off, or he was rubbing himself on something. It went away very quickly and hasn't happened since.
