Hi there, I'm new to the reefing biz and have a question.
I got this single Favia head as a combo that was covered with xenia and it wasn't doing well after it was removed. It's been eating well and usually the left side and top is really plump. I saw these dark spots and was messing with it and he got mad at me. I can't figure out what they are, but they're hard. I'm attaching a pic and I enhanced it a bit so there was more difference.
Any ideas?
I appreciate any help, I really want to save this guy.

Looks like some tissue recession going on. Are dots moving? Could be black bugs if so.
If not, could be from a sting. Any coral nearby?
