Hi everyone. I would imagine other people have this situation. My reef tank currently has three kessil a360x ,
The lights start to turn on at about 1130 AM. And they go until about 10:30 PM
Early afternoon the tank starts looking really great. It only gets better. My complaint is that the tank is dark basically for the other 12 hours a day. And this is most undesirable for me on the weekends. I would love to be able to look at my tank especially on weekend mornings. I don’t suppose there are any ideas or solutions to this? Probably just the way it has to be? Right? Thanks Carl from Boston

I leave very early in the morning 1:30am. I bring my blue flashlight out and look at the tank before I leave

i’m also an early riser weekdays (quick scan with the iPhone for me before i leave the house), with a similar situation weekend mornings. my lights don’t turn on until 10:30 am and they’re off by 08:00 pm.

seems reasonable to lengthen the tank photoperiod in, say, 30-minute increments week by week?

myself, i’m just looking to start the lights 60 minutes earlier.

11:30am to midnight here, from 9:30 to 11:45 tank looks sensational. I work till 6 and I am a night owl so midnight off is sometimes too soon. I made a black out curtain “cover” that keeps the tank as dark as possible till 11:30 when the sunrises.

haha, i have a black out curtain for my african grey parrot ... helps me enjoy sleeping in ... otherwise she’s chirping, clicking, beeping & whistling away at dawn’s first light.

(oh, and barking like the dogs too!) ;Hilarious
