after years and years of african cichlid keeping (and breeding), i couldn't resist any longer, so i spent the last few days rehoming all my fish and acquiring equipment to convert my 120 gallon (60x24x18) to a salt FOWLR tank.

^^ the first 50lbs of dry reef rock is in. there is another 75 pounds due here tomorrow along with the reef sand, and my RO/DI unit so i can start making water! with a 75gpd RO/DI system it's going to take a couple of days to fill but i am getting very excited.

my plan for this tank is a "big ocean" with few, relatively small, but very colorful fish, so each one is very different from the others and immediately catches your eye.

planned stock list:

royal gramma
yellow tail damsel
2 ocellaris clowns
flame angel
foxface rabbitfish OR yellow tang (need help deciding)

eventually some tangs if i feel confident enough (i hear they can be quite frail along with the flame angel).

anyway, just thought i'd say hello and i'll be posting updates/pics along the way.

Just wait until you add corals, then thats where the addiction begins. Great start!

foxface rabbitfish
percula clown
royal gramma
blue damsel
firefish goby
7 green chromis

i want a powder blue tang so badly. and a flame angel. i'm just nervous about it.
