Dartfish help

dart fish appear to have bulge on bottom/ sides and white poop. The bulge is hard to see in the photos, but definitely present. Looks a bit like a distended stomach. Still eating, slightly less active, but still active. Any thoughts on action. I have freshwater dipped and saw no signs of flukes. I was planning to proactively do a course of prazipro and then copper power. Does that sound good?

One other note is my royal gramma appears to have both eyes a bit bulging. I dosed epson salt last night.

I take it they are all in quarantine now and you were going to prophylactically treat with copper and Prazipro? If so, good plan for the other pathogens but the stomach lump and white poo isn't ich or flukes...but that plan is good to clear them out of their system if they are new fish to you.

If you think she has an internal parasite or worms... which can cause the white, stringy poo... then you need to feed medicated food. Use General Cure and Focus mixed with their food and feed 2 times per day for 14-21 days. You can do this while doing your other treatments. But, I have found that while other treatments are in the water column, sometimes their appetite is suppressed and they don't eat as well... just watch for that.

Great, thanks. I will do medicated food and prazipro to start. They are in qt and I have had them a couple weeks. Is there a food recipe with gc you recommend? Can I use pellets? Flakes? Mysis? Any recommendations on food? Thanks.

Generally, 1 scoop GC + 1 scoop Focus mix ed d with around 1TBSP food. I only feed frozen, so i mix it with mysis usually. I also feed small bits slowly so i can make sure the fish consume it quickly while the meds are still binding to the food. I think you can still use pellets and flakes though. If they are hesitant to eat it, you can add a drop of garlic juice to the mixture as well. The medicated food will last 3-5 days in the refrigerator. Use whichever food they seem to like the best.

Prazipro in the water column only works on flukes. If you instead treat the water column with General Cure, the prazi in that med will take care of flukes but the added Metrodonizole in that med will also take care of possible Brooklynella... which you definitely want to treat for with a clown fish.
