Those are COLONIES?!?!? :snicker:

j/k

They look about the same to me.

Bpttom left is has more defined black, i think there diffrent.

I just bought these as Darth mauls, I guess this is where lineage would be nice because all three of these look different.

Keep an eye on those VDM, I bought 21 and only 4 survived. I didnt get them from that guy but they seem touchy when being shipped.

Did they come from the same source? I would think the lower left are DM. But the others are fairly close as well. Just wondered if maybe different lighting and water param's??

Also look like the "Pepperoni Palys" AquaSD had.

Are those the two "colonies" you bought off of Nano-reef? The same seller had VDM and you could tell they don't look anything like the Darth Mauls

**edit yea I guess it is, I scrolled down farther :p**
yes that is the guy i got it from. i just want to make sure if they are the same or not because one is different from the other.

the one to the right is VDM. i got it free from the seller. they oopen half way and hopefully they will fully open tomorrow.

If I take the same colony of zoos, and put them in three different spots in my tank, they will all look just a little different in time. The differences might go away over time, if all three were placed in the same part of the tank.

I wouldn't be upset receiving either one as "Darth Mauls". Then again, I've always been much more interested in lineage as indication that a coral has successfully adapted to and been grown in captive conditions than knowing which retailer claims to have had it first...

Here's mine for comparison:

Here's a picture that better shows the pattern variations you can get even from adjacent polyps.
