I’ve noticed a good amount of corals seemed to be called different names. At the very least the differences are small and hard to detect for a humble green belt reefer like myself. What’s the difference between these two?

im not really big fan of named corals, its more of a marketing, for me coral change colors depending on lighting some of them are just morph from other colors, but correct me if im wrong

illuminati are pretty blah in comparison here. Though I never got the appeal. I'm guessing a lot of it is the collector mentality and not always based on amazing looks.

I think that is definitely part of it. If it’s rare or expensive people want it more. I actually really do like these deep dark red speckled corals though. I just noticed they were almost identical, but despite that are priced completely differently.

Pictures here don't do them justice. They are both nice looking zoanthids in their own rights.....the Darth Mauls have a great pattern and the Illuminatis are have a mettalic look to them. Side by side it is easy to see in person. Look up Campfires also, if you want to throw another in the mix.
