Hello everyone!

Decided to make a build thread of my tank. Haven't really seen to many builds of my tank size so I thought I'd share and make some new friends to help me out along the way. I am no expert but I have had a 70 gallon mixed reef tank in the past so we'll see what happens!

The Tank/Equipment:
30 gallon rimeless 24x24x12
18 gallon trigger system sump
Custom made stand
Jebao DCT-4000 return pump
Hydor Koralia power head
Two small BRS reactors
Heater: 250 watt and 300 watt
Light: IM led light bar thing
ATO:
Controller: Neptune Apex Classic

Equipement I need/want:
New led light fixture
protein skimmer
modules for apex
salinity probe
Vortech MP10QD
Two BRS dosing pumps

Don't worry I will have lots of pictures on account that both my father and brother are both in the photography hobby and have a ton of equipment. Thinking of doing some sort of time lapse videos or something.

Also I'd love to hear everyones opinions on what type of light fixture and protein skimmer to get. Im stuck between getting a kessil (but I don't know which one would work for my tank) or the hydra twentysixHD.

Thanks for looking!

ps I know my wires need to be cleaned up a bit

Alright some good news and some bad.

Good news was I received my Innovated Marine XL Probe holder. It looks super solid, has a really strong magnet, and is built out of full acrylic. Its nice and has four slots for probes and one for a ATO tube, and then on top of all, it that four slots for dosing hoses. Just a really nice piece of equipment to put in your sump if it didn't come with a prob holder already.

Now the bad news but it was actually a blessing in disguise. I was finally cleaning my room and plugged in the vacuum and all of a sudden all of my lights turned out and I heard a noise that sounded almost light a powerhead half way out of water but it was my switch for my fan that was shooting flames and sparks! So how we tapped into the series to get the outlet working, the power ran through the switch to my outlet and once I plugged the vacuum in the switch couldn't handle the amps that I needed. The switch is only rated for 3 amps and my tank alone is pulling 2.3 according to the apex so the mixture of my fan lights being on and the vacuum cleaner over amped the switch and melted it. We now figured out how messed out our circuits are upstairs since our addition so we ran a separate line for my fish tank so I won't have any problems in the future. I'm just glad all of this happened when I was home/awake.
